Annual Golf Fundraiser
2023 Annual Golf Fundraiser – September 17th, 2023. Fund’s raised at this year’s event will be donated locally for suicide prevention.
Natyasala Dance Fundraiser
The York County Medical Foundation and Natyashala Dance School are pleased to announce our Fundraiser Show on September 23, 2023, from 2 pm – 5 pm at the Lancaster Country Day School. The fundraiser will benefit suicide prevention education.

About York Couny Medical Foundation
York County Medical Foundation was founded in 1991 primarily to provide free care and surgical procedures to the poor, at home and in developing nations.
Dr. Vasudevan Tiruchelvam (“Dr. Tiru”), foundation president, and his surgical teams perform free surgical procedures in third-world regions and bring both children and adults from undeveloped areas to York, Pennsylvania for critical surgeries that are unavailable in their native countries. In addition to its work abroad, YCMF contributes to a wide variety of local organizations.

All The Past Projects
The York County Medical Foundation President, Dr. Vasudevan Tiruchelvam, and a host of healthcare workers, have donated their time and skills to provide medical care and humanitarian relief to some of the poorest and underserved areas in the world! From Sri Lanka to Laos, Honduras and most recently Mauritania, life saving care has been given to people who otherwise would not have access to healthcare services.
2019 Dinner Dance and Silent Auction
The Gettysburg Big Band performed at The York County Medical Foundation’s 20th Annual Dinner Dance and Silent Auction held on August 24, 2019, at the Country Club of York. Over 100 guests attended the dinner and there were more than 100 great items available for Silent Auction bidders.
Indian Cultural Event Fundraiser Education
On August 10, 2019, The York County Medical Foundation, in conjunction with Natyashala School of Dance and Indo American Academy of Classical Music, hosted an Indian Cultural Event Fundraiser at Central York High School. A donation of $5,000 was presented to Beverley Stambaugh, Executive Director of the Greater Pennsylvania Region of the American Red Cross by Dr. Vasudevan Tiruchelvam, President of The York County Medical Foundation. The proceeds were donated to support the home fire campaign which installs fire alarms in York City homes.
Sri Lanka Tsunami Support Mission
When a powerful tsunami in the Indian Ocean devastated coastal regions of Asia in December 2004, 30,000 died in Sri Lanka and 640,000 were left homeless there. Shortly after the tsunami struck, Dr. Tiruchelvam, president of York County Medical Foundation, traveled to Sri Lanka, where he was born and lived until 1978, and where he has family still, to see how the Foundation and the York County community could help.
With the money raised by the foundation and in cooperation with Habitat for Humanity, York County Medical Foundation constructed 15 homes in the Sri Lanka.
